During ground works for an extension at a McDonald’s in Lincoln the contractor excavated the footings without realising that the ground was contaminated. The WAC (Waste Acceptance Criteria) test indicated high levels of asbestos identified in the excavated soil.
Rilmac were appointed to carry out the remaining dig using asbestos trained excavator drivers with asbestos operatives carrying out constant dampening down.
Additionally, Rilmac were also contracted to dig and remove the soil which had already been removed by the contractor and load into eight-wheel lorries for disposal at a licensed tip.
